It’s time for another edition of our hybrid reading series “Tinted Tales: reading across cultures.” On May 28, 2026, we invite a set of ESL authors who were previously published in our tinted digital pages to read and perform at our annual reading series. Authors will join us live in Graz and come in virtually, as well.
In addition, we offer one reading slot (on-site) to an emerging writer who we have not yet published, to be our open list guest, and we will be hosting a singer-songwriter to add some extra spark to the reading with a couple of their songs. Applications for both are currently welcomed (learn how to apply below).
A donation is suggested, to help us cover the expenses for this event.
* exact time and location tba.
We are happy to offer one open list slot at this edition of “Tinted Tales.”
You write creatively in English as a second or non-native language and your texts have not yet appeared in Tint Journal? You'd like to read your work at our event? We welcome all genres (poetry, short stories, essays, …); beginners, amateurs, and professional writers; and, of course, all accents. Please note that you have to be able to join us live on-site in Graz on May 28, 2026, in the evening. Travel help is possible for open list performers residing outside of Graz.
To apply, send an email to andrea.faerber@tintjournal.com and
tell us why you'd like to join our reading as a performer;
state the place/region/country you’d like to be associated with and your native language(s) in the email; and
attach the story or poems that you would like to read for your 10-minute slot.
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION: May 3, 2026, midnight (CEST)⠀
We especially welcome LGBTQ+ individuals and people from diverse and minority backgrounds to apply. This event is meant to be a safeR, inclusive space where everyone can feel comfortable and respected.
