What was your favorite book as a child?
PINOCCHIO. I was crazy about that story, I used to ask mum to read it to me so many times. Later, I used to read it on my own. Every time I could I'd dash to my bedroom to read it again and again. It is still one of my favourite books ever. I've read it a couple of times as an adult, and it's an incredible emotion every time I read it.
Do you remember the original reason or motivation why you started writing creatively?
Social injustice and feminicide.
What was the most adventurous or thrilling thing you ever did/experienced?
My 3 US coast to coast: the first one when I was 22, was travelling on my own by train back in 1996. So exciting. The second one by train, 4 days in a row, SF-NYC, on my own. Again very exciting. The third one in 2012, 4 days in a row, NYC-LA on my own. Fascinating and unforgettable.
Do you listen to music while reading or writing?
Sometimes. I'd say 5% of my reading/writing time. I listen to classical music. Vivaldi or Handel, my favourite composers. It helps me relax when I read. It does stimulate me when I write.
