Q&A

What was your favorite book as a child?

I didn’t have one, I had many. Japanese children’s stories were some of my favourites. My favourite now is Tuesday with Morrie.

Do you remember the original reason or motivation why you started writing creatively?

In a small town, our home was beneath a big hammerhead hill. Growing up with wildlife and nature’s beauty was a blissful gift. The habit of dwelling later on turned into poetry.

What was the most adventurous or thrilling thing you ever did/experienced?

Sudden, unplanned hiking with my friend, knowing nothing about the route. Perhaps we followed a worn path, into the woods, roars of wildlife, us hungry and thirsty, dead phones, no maps, ten hours of strayed hiking led us to a human settlement.

Do you listen to music while reading or writing?

No. Reading and writing have their own rhythm.
