Hantian Zhang is a writer living in San Francisco. His work can be found in The Offing, Eclectica Magazine, Manifest-Station, and elsewhere. He is a data scientist by day.
What was your favorite book as a child?
I didn’t have one favorite book as a child. I read Chinese authors and foreign words translated into Chinese.
Do you remember the original reason or motivation why you started writing creatively?
The void that work can’t fill, I guess.
What was the most adventurous or thrilling thing you ever did/experienced?
I’m not a very adventurous person. Kayaking in Mexico and trekking for five days in Iceland are already my adventures.
Do you listen to music while reading or writing?
I don’t because I can only focus on one task at a time.
