What was your favorite book as a child?
I loved the Magic Tree House books! I read so many of them. My mom would take me to the library as a kid and I would just leave with an armful of Magic Tree House.
What was the original reason or motivation why you started writing creatively?
I think I found writing to be the most effective form of self-expression and reflection. On the page is where I come to say and realize things I hadn’t known before, and also a place for me to capture memories.
What was the most adventurous or thrilling thing you ever did/experienced?
The first thing that comes to mind, for some reason, is this trapdoor water slide I went on as a kid, where you’re encased standing up in a tube and then the floor drops out from under you. I’m sure there are other things but that’s what I’m thinking of.
Do you listen to music while reading or writing?
I usually don't listen to music while reading or writing, because it makes me lose concentration. On some occasions though, if I’m writing through a certain sentiment and there’s a song in the same vein, I’ll listen to it. Or sometimes I like ambient cafe music.
