What was your favorite book as a child?
My favorite book was Little Women for as long as I can remember. I was obsessed with the story and I would read it again and again.
Do you remember the original reason or motivation why you started writing creatively?
I started writing stories as a child. I wrote mostly short fiction stories for myself and people around me and I started writing nonfiction in my early twenties as an outlet to express things I feel and think about.
What was the most adventurous or thrilling thing you ever did/experienced?
I took a few months between two jobs to travel through the Middle East, Armenia (where my husband is from), Georgia, and North America. I also did a road trip around Iran, which is one of my best memories.
Do you listen to music while reading or writing? Why/why not?
No I don’t. I really need complete silence when I write. That’s why I usually write really early in the morning when everything is quiet. When I read, I don’t mind a little bit of noise but I don’t actively listen to music.
