What was your favorite book as a child?
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte was one of the first English fiction books I read. Since then, it has been my all-time favorite. The book covers so many themes—love, friendship, independence, and dreams. I still remember quite a few quotes from it, especially Jane’s words “I am not an angel, and I will not be one till I die: I will be myself.”
Do you remember the original reason or motivation why you started writing creatively?
I love the feeling of writing about something that touches my heart or sparks in my mind. It is a feeling of freedom from mundane life.
What was the most adventurous or thrilling thing you ever did/experienced?
While in college, I entered a singing contest. I didn’t realize that it was a professional contest, and I was competing with many professional singers. When I stepped on the stage with many eyes fixed on me, I was so nervous that my voice trembled a little bit. As I look back now, I am proud of the younger me for being brave enough to challenge myself.
Do you listen to music while reading or writing?
I often listen to soft jazz when I am writing. It soothes my heart and allows me to focus on creating my stories.
