Andie writes experimental prose and creates mixed-media works. After ten years in the U.S., she now lives in China and writes in English. She plans forty pieces yearly as illustrated booklets. Her work appears in The Vagabond’s Verse Magazine; she has published microfiction. She holds an MFA in Experimental Arts and Documentary Studies from Duke University.

What was your favorite book as a child?
Tetsuko Kuroyanagi’s The Little Girl at the Window.
What was the original reason or motivation why you started writing creatively?
I used to think I could never write. Not even a single historical trauma is closely related to my life. After being hospitalized during a mental health crisis, I thought, Maybe I can become a writer now.
What was the most adventurous or thrilling thing you ever did/experienced?
I decided that I would never enter a relationship again.
Do you listen to music while reading or writing? Why/why not?
