If a novel is a marathon, a short story is... not a sprint. In this beginner-friendly, interactive multilingual workshop facilitated by Tint Journal contributing writer Lindi Dedek, we will collectively stretch and tone our writing bodies and develop personal training plans.
In the first part, we will explore the short story form by reading contemporary translingual authors. We will take the time to reflect on our writing practice and aspirations. What stories do we want to tell, and what do we need (to learn) to manifest them on paper?
In the second part, we will exercise different aspects of storytelling such as tone, voice, and dialogue, with the aim of putting as many words on paper as possible. At best, you will leave the workshop with a lot of inspiration and courage to write your next story.
