A script is two things: first a work of art in its own right (telling a story through characters’ words and actions) and second, a blueprint used to create a second work of art (the theatrical performance). Understanding the balance between the two is key to creating a successful script — one that works both to tell your story and to show how to perform it. In an intense workshop, we’ll be dealing hands-on with the typical struggles faced by first-time playwrights — we’ll tackle tricks and techniques for characterization, dialogue, and action to help bring your stories to the first step of their journey from page to stage.
